Dr. Nigel Davey

I qualified from Leeds in 1984 and then trained as a GP in Harrogate, Blackburn and Clitheroe. I came to Todmorden in 1989 and have stayed here ever since. In my spare time I enjoy being a dinghy sailor, dog walker and of late, re-acquainting myself with the Lakeland Fells now that our children are of an age to enjoy them with us. |

Dr. Andrew Harrison
|
I went to medical school in Manchester and trained as a GP in Oldham. I like both living and working Todmorden as an industrial town in a rural setting. I also enjoy working in this practice which is very hard working, a fact not fully appreciated by the health authority. I love sport especially cricket but have my loyalties split between Todmorden and Walsden ! I am lucky to have a wonderful, supportive and loving family. |

Dr. Jane Keighley
|
I have been a GP for 12 years and a Partner in Todmorden for the past 6 years. I have an interest in womens health and trained as a colposcopist in 1999. I have been accredited with the BSCCP since 2001 and run a colposcopy outreach clinic in Hebden Bridge. I believe in services closer to home particularly for rural areas, but never at the cost of safety. I am a trainer for nurse practitioners in the practice. I joined the Professional Executive Committee for Calderdale PCT in 2005. I enjoy travel and gardening and looking after my 2 cats |

Dr. William Okanga

I was born and raised in Western Kenya. I was lucky to get a scholarship to study medicine in Poland where, after being immersed in learning the Polish language I lived, studied and eventually became a doctor. My wife is a Polish dentist. I specialised in family medicine and paediatrics ( children ). For a few years I moved to northern Sweden and was a GP in a small town in the forest, and had to learn yet another language. I then moved back to Poland and worked to provide a modern day centre of learning disabled teenagers. I moved to Todmorden 2 years ago with my wife and 3 boys. We live in Halifax. Apart from the family, playing football is the main priority for myself and my boys. I have been very pleased to be welcomed by the Todmorden people especially the Polish community with whom I enjoy speaking Polish. |

Dr. Michael Ross
|
I trained at University College Hospital in London. Before coming to Todmorden 2 years ago I worked for 17 years as a GP in inner city Bradford, learned to speak Urdu !, and also ran the Drug Dependency Clinic. I love the openess of the countryside and the straight talking of the Todmorden community. I am a nurse practitioner trainer in the practice. I have 4 kids and my wife runs Cobbles and Clay, the ceramics painting cafe in Haworth ! |

I joined Todmorden Group Practice in July 2006. During my nursing career I have worked in Leeds and London as a senior nurse specialising in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. Prior to coming to Todmorden I worked as a Night Sister at Burnley General. Born and bred just down the road in Mytholmroyd, I always wanted to work somewhere in the Upper Calder Valley. This post is my perfect job and I am enjoying meeting the people of Todmorden. I am married with 3 young daughters who keep me very busy when I am not at work. I enjoy live music and eating out with friends when my husband and I can get a baby sitter !! |

I lived in Todmorden for many years but moved to Hebden Bridge about 16 yrs ago where I now live with my husband Neil. I have a son of 31, Jason who spends his life climbing. I also have a daughter Charlotte who works in the care sector. I have worked at the Health Centre as a receptionist for many years and have seen many changes. I re-trained in 2003. This involved a 6000 word portfolio course on the DTC Primary Care Training Centre Accredited Health Care Assistant Programme and in service training with Sister Deborah Harper and Nurse Practitioner Helen Baldcock. I am now part of the Nursing Team and I love my job and enjoy the developing role of Health Care Assistant. When I am not at work I enjoy gardening, walking, reading and watching Walsden cricket club. We live in a beautiful area and have one of the best walking areas in the country. I like nothing better than getting out there ! |

I'm not from Todmorden. I was born in Burnley and bred in Hebden Bridge. I worked for 13 years at Burnley General on nights. I enjoy working at the Group Practice and have made many new friends including staff and patients. I feel like I've been here for a lot longer than 2 years and it's lovely to meet people outside work and to be recognised and made to feel part of the community. |

I am a Mancunian and moved here with my large close-knit family in the 60s to roam amongst the unspoilt uplands of Todmorden. After spending all my working life in offices and achieving various RSA admin qualifications, I joined this busy practice as a Receptionist 11 years ago. Together with my colleagues, I believe the emphasis here is helping people to improve the quality of their lives and have always enjoyed my small part in this process. I derive great pleasure from the simple things in family life, and have interests in green issues, local literature and history. |

I have worked here in Todmorden for the last 15 months and find it to be a challenge with each day being different!!! I qualified with a BA (Hon’s) in Business Information Technology and I studied at Huddersfield University. Prior to working here I worked for the PCT as a computer technician as part of the CCIS team, this team roles out new clinical systems to surgeries within the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust. I was born and raised in Todmorden. I went to Todmorden Grammar School where I ended up as Head Girl. I then worked for the Yorkshire Bank and started with the General Practice 10 years ago. I have 3 demanding daughters plus 2 demanding horses. I still like Todmorden and it is great to meet so many people out and about in the town. Many still think I work in the bank ..and I am not sure which is more demanding the bank or the doctors ! |
